American Hero Adventures
American Hero Adventures provide adventures of a lifetime to a hero and their loved ones so that they can enjoy life with one another as they did before their lives were so drastically altered. Their goal is to give hope, healing, and camaraderie through myriad adventures. While they are most notably known for their unique hunting and fishing adventures throughout the world, they also strive to broaden horizons with other activities. They conduct Father’s Day retreats, weekend getaways to the mountains and the seacoast of Oregon, ballroom dancing lessons, cooking classes with a professional chef, camping, golf outings, and various shooting sports events. Currently, they operate adventures in five countries and fourteen states.
Central Iowa Shelter and Services
Central Iowa Shelter and Services Mission provides food, shelter, and various support services at no cost to adults and Veterans. This includes helping the homeless move forward toward self-sufficiency. In their Veterans Per Diem Program, and in partnership with the United States Department of Affairs, they provide studio apartments for eligible Veterans. The Veterans are allowed to reside in these apartments for up to twenty-four months along with being assisted with supplemental case management, job training, housing placements, daily meals, clothing, laundry facilities, and other resources.
