A Colorado Uber driver who wants only to be identified as James P., testified that a passenger of his gave him a $5 Super Special Ultimate Bingo Scratch ticket six weeks ago as a tip. He told lottery officials that thereafter his initial win, "I just kept winning, and rolling it over and over into more tickets. I thought to myself, 'I'm never going to hit the end of these tickets.' It just kept going and going."
He won $30 from the first ticket and then used it to purchase six additional tickets in succession for the same lottery contest. Eventually, it had finally paid off. After a month and a half winning streak, he purchased the winning ticket at a Centennial Store on Wednesday which in turn earned him a top prize of $140,000.
James P. stated that he is going to use some of the money to repair and upgrade his Uber vehicle, and that he also is planning on giving his parents some of the winnings including money that they had lent him in the past.
The Lakewood Colorado man stated that he has picked up and driven the same passenger who gave him the initial ticket on a number of occasions. He elaborated that he hasn't seen him since the biggest win. James said, "I haven't been able to find him yet and tell him about this, but I hope that I do. I very rarely get the same passenger multiple times, but I've picked this guy up a few times."
The very lucky Uber driver went to the Denver Colorado Claims Office on Thursday to collect his $140,000 prize.
