Suzanne Valluzzi, of New Jersey, exclaimed, "I can't believe I won it," shortly after winning the one million dollar prize in the state Lottery's Million Dollar Park Replay Grand Drawing. The Hazlet, Monmouth County resident, is a substitute teacher and a lunch aide who lives in the state of New Jersey for the past year. She entered a lottery program that offers lottery player ticket losers who are eligible a second chance to enter their ticket to win cash.
Entrants in the contest can review the winning numbers on-line or at a New Jersey lottery sponsored event for the actual drawing. The New Jersey Lottery Ambassador, Erica Young, signed photos at the event before hosting the drawing. Suzanne and her husband decided to attend the event, and the crowd applauded as the two went forward to celebrate their winnings. Standing with her husband Rocco when she won the prize, Suzanne exclaimed, "I'm glad that he was standing right there to hold me up because I thought I would faint."
1.5 million dollars were also awarded to semi-finalists. Fourteen lottery players received prizes ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 as part of the Grand Prize Drawing. Throughout 2017, non-winning lottery ticket holders were allowed a second chance to win, in which Suzanne expressed her gratitude that players like her would have a second chance to win such a lucrative prize.
The couple said that they plan to use the money to help them get out of debt and also to pay for their 14-year-old son's college education. They stated that their son doesn't know about the good news yet, because he was in school. In addition, Suzanne and Rocco mentioned that when they are settled in with their winnings, they plan on taking a well-deserved vacation.
